Demystifying Clinical Trials: Engaging Patients and Communities of Color in Clinical Research
The MedTech Color Collaborative Community on Diversity and Inclusion in Medical Device Product Development and Clinical Research is proud to present this moderated discussion to inform patients and healthcare providers about clinical trials. Explore the process, benefits and considerations of participating in clinical research from patients, researchers and other experts who have first-hand experience. This webinar is the first of many events designed to increase awareness of the impacts of unconscious bias, social determinants of health and lack of inclusion of racial and ethnic minorities in critical aspects of product development, treatment and healthcare.

*Medical technology, or "Medtech", encompasses a wide range of healthcare products and is used to diagnose, treat, monitor, and manage diseases and medical conditions affecting humans. Such technologies include heart monitors, glucose monitors, knee replacements, etc.

*Clinical trials are research studies on human participants who are assigned an intervention to evaluate the effect of that intervention. These biomedical interventions may include new treatments such as novel vaccines, drugs, and medical devices.
